What kind of subwoofers should i buy?

i have a 99 grand am with a pioneer premier 1200 watt amp and 2 12" 750 watt audiopipe subwoofers. i think the subs are startin to crap out a little bit and im looking to get new subs. i definitely like the 12's and i like deep booming b. my subs had more of a pop sound. i want that kind of system u can hear from down the street even tho it bothers ppl lol. i have been lookin at JL W3's and i have been told u can get a lot better subs than that for a lot cheaper. is this true???? and if so what subs are better. a list of good quality subs that will give me deep b and hit all the notes would be appreciated, thank u
