How come my iPod touch 3G won't work voice control?

Before I updated it to ios4, the v-control worked PERFECTLY. Now when I do it, it doesn't work anymore. Does anyone know a place in settings where I can enable it?? It probably got disabled? And wld I need to wear a microphone to actually make it work? I don't reall plug it in and all.
