2 computors in same room?

one will work ok on net the other goes down after about 5 mins or so they both run out wired connection and a modem. i changed modem that dont work. if i unplug internet wire from the modem to that computor then plug it back in i have no problem getting on net . techs dont no whats wrong , help please thx
