Patterns in nature? Not totally random?

There are room for hybrids... but generally, the parts for a 747 do not fit into a watch or a biplane. Nature finds ways to fill gaps... it builds creatures and plants that survive well in a given set of conditions. The forms may be random... but they only survive that fit certain environmental criteria.
