My doctor gave me medication for a yeast infection...how long does it take to go away?

I had my doctor give me medication for a yeast infection and it is a pill that is taken orally once. it is only one pill. It says that you will get releif from symptoms in 24 hours but how long does it take to go away completely and when can i have again after taking the medicine??
