Ethical/Moral dillemma about a rapist?

A young lady I know was d several years ago (when she was 16) at a party by several boys. One was 21 at the time. No arrests or convictions were ever made (small town politics) but this gal was not lying. Anyway she is 22 now. Well, one of the young man was just killed when a skidder rolled over him. he was now 29, with a wife and kid. i read his obituary, about what a great person he was, and it makes me sort of sick. The family has asked that if anyone has a "special memory" of him to send it to the Hall where they are making a book for his family. I want to send in the memory that he was a rapist. Isn't that vindictive? Do you think he's already had his justice now? Your thoughts appreciated....
