WHY ARE SYLVIA PLATH'S POEMS STILL APPEALING TO A MODERN AUDIENCE?

I think many more people now identify with mental health issues such as depression and suicide. Issues such as these were hidden when Plath wrote and now they are in the forefront of medical research. When reading her work now, people always have in the back of their mind her decline and eventual suicide. So it holds a strange, morbid fascination.
